Our healthcare team has substantial
experience in advising on all aspects of healthcare law including
clinical negligence, complaints, inquests, the Children Act,
hospital policies and protocols, human rights, confidentiality, and
consent to treatment. We also have expertise in dealing with mental
health issues, disciplinary proceedings, health and safety issues,
and (clinical and non-clinical) risk
management.
Our lawyers are adept at handling
the wide variety of day-to-day legal issues that arise when trusts
deal with the police, the coroner and other non-health government
bodies.
We service a wide range of clients
including NHS trusts, MDOs and individual healthcare workers. Our
deep understanding of the industry and legal issues involved means
that we can quickly provide our clients with succinct and relevant
advice. We are also used to dealing with the media on the often
highly-sensitive issues that arise in healthcare cases.
The environment in which the NHS
operates is constantly changing and we have adapted accordingly to
ensure that our advice remains practical. Our lawyers frequently
update their knowledge through our firm's extensive IT framework
and regular training sessions with other lawyers and healthcare
workers. We have also advised institutions such as The Royal
Marsden NHS Foundation on becoming one of the first Foundation
Trusts.
We have represented the NHS
and individual trusts in clinical negligence claims and our lawyers
are experienced litigators who frequently appear in all courts
including the county courts, coroners' courts and the High Court.
We are also one of the few firms appointed to sit on the
NHSLA Panel.
