As of 20 December 2009, the Public Contract Regulations 2006 will be amended to give effect to the new Remedies Directive. This article highlights some of the key changes introduced by the new rules, in particular, those relating to:

• the standstill period; 
• the notification of the award decision;
• the automatic suspension of award procedures; and
• the remedy of ineffectiveness.
